Virgin Voyages is 18 and older. No kids. No exceptions.
Virgin Voyages is an adults-only cruise line. Every sailor on every ship on every sailing has to be at least 18 years old on the day they board. There is no kids’ club, no family sailing, and no waiver that gets a 17-year-old on the ship. If someone turns 18 the day after you sail, they do not board. Infants, kids, and teenagers are not allowed, even in your cabin, even with a parent, even for a special occasion.
This is not a ship that occasionally has no kids. It is a ship that was designed knowing there would never be children on it. No PA announcements for character meet-and-greets. No splash pad next to the pool. The pool deck is for sitting, not for a line to the slide. If you have cruised with a family line, the difference is the noise you do not hear.
If you’re afraid that adults-only gets translated into “swingers’ cruise,” you are sorely mistaken. We’ve cruised Virgin Voyages quite a bit and we love it. We took our kids when our youngest was 19 and they loved it as much as we do.
Virgin is great for couples who do not want a floating theme park, friends splitting cabins, or parents traveling with adult kids. Anyone who has done the big-ship cruise and spent the week working around other people’s children has likely fantasized about a ship with no kids. This is the answer.
